Each of our Licensed Massage Therapists are trained and experienced in injury rehabilitation.
What is the Purpose of Deep Tissue Massage?
The purpose of a deep tissue massage is to reach the deeper layers of muscle tissue in the body, including the fascia and other supportive tissue that make up your joints. We focusing on the manipulation of the deep layers in order to relax, lengthen and release harmful holding patterns stored up inside you.
How Does Deep Tissue Massage Differ from Other Massage Techniques?
Compared to other popular types of massage techniques, like Swedish massage and acupressure, which is often much lighter in pressure and can involve orienting the body into certain positions — deep tissue massage is usually performed more slowly and firmly. This promotes a deeper release of stored tension in the muscles and fascia.
