The Benefits of Spinal Decompression

If you're struggling with chronic back or neck pain, spinal decompression therapy may offer the relief you’ve been looking for. This gentle, non-surgical treatment works by relieving pressure on the spine, promoting healing, and restoring function without needing medication or invasive procedures. Whether you're dealing with a herniated disc, sciatica, or general spinal discomfort, decompression therapy can help you feel better, move more freely, and support long-term spinal health.

Key benefits include:

  1. Relieves low back and neck pain

  2. Reduces pressure on bulging or herniated discs

  3. Alleviates nerve and sciatic pain along with other symptoms

  4. Reverses damage caused by poor posture

  5. Helps with pinched nerves

  6. Helps with symptoms caused by Degenerative Disc Disease

  7. Safer than surgical and more invasive measures

  8. Enhances spinal flexibility and range of motion

  9. Improves circulation to spinal tissues for better healing

  10. Aids in correcting spinal alignment

  11. Promotes long-term disc health by improving spacing

  12. Reduces inflammation and muscle tension around the spine

What is Spinal Decompression for Back Pain?

Spinal decompression for the back is done using motorized traction with straps attached around your pelvis and your trunk. It is designed to relieve compression and help reduce pain. This spinal decompression is done by gently stretching the spine and taking pressure off the discs. These discs are gel-like cushions between the spine's vertebrae and sometimes become compressed. They are relieved by undoing the pressure through decompression. Herniated and bulging discs can realign within the spine. This realignment of the spine may allow pinched nerves to become free and may allow increases in overall nutrient, water, and oxygen transfer, as well as overall spine health.

The Cox® Table allows the decompression therapy chiropractor to feel the exact tissue tension and sense the patient’s response to decompression treatment. This hands-on approach allows the chiropractor to respond to the patient's needs in the moment.
